My dear Mother Father & Sister
Arrived back here yesterday after adopting my usual policy - hopping motors - with unusually successful results, did about 20 miles thro delightful river country - including a trip thro a battered city of world wide renown - in four "hops" only had walks which would not total more than 2 miles.
Got mixed up in a rough & tumble night stunt in the 7th of last month & yesterday I learned that the infantry had successfully recommended me for an M.C. The first letter addressed Lt M S Stanley, M.C. came from General Birwood, unfortunately the contents of a tin of Bully beef took all the charm of things. I had the deuce of an headache & internal mechanisms are still cranky.
Ron Scott is going back to Australia
