Dear Stan,
After 6 days at Dartford, I was sent to Weymouth - & this morning had my final board before Gen. Ryan. In a few days I hope to go on furlough & will be mighty unlucky if I don't have Xmas with my people in London.
Weymouth is a very decent spot & must be delightful in the Springtime. The camp here is tres bon - good tucker & nothing to do - Read & write & sleep & go to the picture show - Some army this! Who wouldn't be a Soldier?!! Unfortunately this isnt the only side of the Soldier's life!
I was very pleased to receive your last letter & to hear you had met Swain. I knew him well. Also that you had visited Cecil's grave & picked some flowers from it for his mother. She will appreciate the thought & deed very highly. I wish that I might have stood there with you!
