[Page 38]

sort of a man not much ginger in him I admit but I enjoyed chatting with him. Auntie looked older with her veil & hat off rather thin in the face, her hair is not exactly grey she must have been beautiful years ago.  We chatted about all sorts of things & all of you she asked particularly about Florrie, Cousin Amy & was quite surprised when I showed her the photos of you & my Dad. "How stout Lizzie is" & "how well my Dad looks" "hasn't changed one bit etc."  Aunties reception of myself was exceptionally warm & I love her very much, she wept when she thought that it was 20 years since she saw me but I just put my arms around her and told her how ripping it was to see her again, then I would look round at Uncle John & laughingly tell him not to get jealous, she would call me a silly boy & run her fingers thro my hair, it was like being home again. We didn't go to bed till after 2 am & I didn't want to go then. Next morning we wandered thro the Town & Auntie made me for lunch an extra special rice pudding. Unfortunately it got burned but it did taste nice. The boys Eric, Wilfred, Gerald, Jeffrey, couldn't do enough for me, I had to laugh at little Wilfred (the youngest) he would clean my boots & leather gear, fetch me this & that. The 3rd boy Amy will remember his name is a particularly fine type of little fellow & will grow into a splendid man. She told me about Tilly leaving England, poor little one how they felt for her.
