to exchange experiences. Since then we received a cable from him when he was going to embark for the front. That was at the beginning of this month.
So perhaps your next meeting place will be in France.
I also received a long and interesting letter from Gladys Nappey. I never really could understand where the connection came between your family and ours until she explained it. It would have done you good to read the letter especially the newsy part, the family part and several other parts but not the personal part, as that was most - what shall I say - for a modest young Officer like you. At any rate I was very pleased to hear from our English cousin. I should imagine from her letter that she would be very nice. I have replied with a ten page letter, a real scribing effort for me, as I can't plead fondness for writing. I really surprised myself, but as I was writing of things & conditions she did not know
