Column arrived in camp about 10 pm fixed up our men & went into the officers mess & then to bed in a hut, these huts are amply comfortable each have a stove & fires are lit.  At mess I met an old friend of mine from Geelong, Davidson an engineer officer, & during the day accidentally met a medic Capt. whose people I knew in Adelaide.  Moving about the camp I met lots of chaps whom I knew, sappers I had trained in the Depot, it is really remarkable the number you meet.

It is very cold compared with Australia & numerous cases of pneumonia occur, it doesn't take long to get a cold & great care has to be taken.

The officers are awfully decent & a grand spirit of comraderie exists.  I could join for a long time but I want to get this letter posted.
