I haven't heard from home for some time, mails have been quite irregular lately, am sending a couple of specimens of Fritzies entanglements, doesn't it look cruel stuff.

From an a piece of wood from a ruined cathedral one of my section is making a little handkerchief box for you.  I designed it myself, it came from the building next to that from which I fashioned the [see image for drawing].  I do hope it will be neat because I desire it to become a definite souvenir of this part of the world.

I am butting into the Major about leave, English or Paris, don't care which, the former for preference.

Came across quite a number of chaps whom I knew in Geelong - in the trenches  it was good to meet them again.
