The temperature is daily becomming colder, it is very keen & biting, fortunately I have whips of woollen togs, Auntie Mary Ellen sent me a parcel a few days ago, she has the keys to my box & all I have to do is to write & she sends them over.
Asked Uncle Joseph for £10 to help my finances, 6/- per day is little more than sufficient for ordinary expenses, an officer has to pay more for every thing than the men, you will readily understand that this is so.
Am delighted to hear of Bill Andrew's son & the Victoria Cross, they are about the only decoration not "on issue", for a stunt a company will have allotted to it an issue of Military Medals (possibly 3) and one Military Cross generally they are allotted on the old scheme of "kissing goes by favour", everybody gets a decoration if they are here long enough - I've
