Auntie Mary Ellen told me that Uncle Joe & Auntie May were just beginning to realize that Elsworth was not the man he ought to be, they have been constantly squaring up things for him, gambling, women & whisky don't tend to produce good men you know.  Annie has two kiddies a girl & boy Nathaniel has 3. Elsworth has one so the Shore family is increasing.

Dinner Sunday was rather a quiet meal for I had to leave by 4.30 pm for London.  The girls saw me to the station, Auntie & Uncle watched me until I turned the corner at the foot of the hill. Uncle Joseph can get about awfully well. We walked to the station & just caught the train  The girls seemed quite pleased over the saluting business & some what amused at my pungent remarks regarding same.  At London Bridge I took a bus to Liverpool St passing en route all the famous buildings, had tea & wandered about the streets until my train left.  It did not connect with Brightlingsea & I had a walk of 3 miles, quite enjoyed it too had a bit to think about you know, arrived home at 11.30 pm.

Florrries Cake the big one arrived the day before I went on leave, it was not opened till I got to Aunt Mary Ellens, so I asked her to cut it, didn't the boys enjoy the icing. I left some with her & took the rest to Stroud.

Auntie will possibly be writing to you.  I asked her too & I want you to reply thanking her for her warm reception of myself. My things when I "go over" will be left at her house & I have to go there every time I am in London.  Uncle Joseph had everything arranged to take a trip to London to Aunties with me had I not called.  Auntie did so wish to see me. It was funny you know I didn't know Aunties surname & had to address my letter to her Mrs -- etc.  It arrived allright & although I could not make a definite statement regarding leave, she came down to the station on the off chance, jolly kind of her you know.
