No blame for this can be laid to the officers charge - the men are ashore & it is not possible to control them easily.
I am enclosing photos showing my last glimpse of Sydney they are rather good as you will admit - other photos I have taken are not yet developed but you will receive same at the earliest moment.
Do not forget to let me have early information of the cases & parcels to be left with [indecipherable] at Auckland - what do you think of them. Hang my sword up somewhere in the sitting room & do not let it
