the figures they represent they have heaps of saints you know.

Near by where we have been working is a church almost levelled, but the crucifix is uninjured, shells must have fallen right aound but they haven't scratched even the figure, it seems as if around these simple symbols a special providence hovers, everywhere we go we see these rude figures rising out of the debris due to the weaknesses of men.

Whilst roaming round I met Thirkell an officer whom I last met in London  his photo is in the centre of a group taken whilst we were at the Sydney school.
