time as Ewing - had gone "West" at Ypres I fancy.  Ewing is cruising round about here I intend to dig him up.

Old Fritz sent over some bonser "Gothas" today they made a devil of a mess in one place, but I had the exquisite pleasure of seeing one come down in flames, it was thrilling, the body of the machine burned to a white heat, the wings fluttered down separately, its mates quickly made for home.

The life here is awfully dull - almost torture, there's absolutely nothing doing and darned little to read, my total library is a Bible, French Testament & two grammars - French & German.  I'm becoming quite a "snorter" at French.
