My dear Mother, Father Sister & Amy
So the P.C.s & famous letter arrived safely I am delighted for I had fully expected that old Fritz had sunk them. I knew that Florrie would have a fit over the P.C.s the later ones of London are more beautiful still. I do hope they will get thro, I laughed at your excitement over mail days, it must be some stunt to receive letters, I guess they arrive in heaps.
Now re the pictures, you have heaps of places in which to hang them, what about the hall and bed rooms. I guess I'd find a place allright, the coloured P.C. from the Oldham Gallery will look bonser also the sepias, they are worth a frame. "The Last Furrow" is charming. The home of the Squirrel is famous. You know I'm looking forward to looking over these things when I get home. Glad you like the wee snapshots & really I'm sorry there are not more of them, anyway I did my best must have spent a small fortune on them.
Am sending a bit of lead to May Hamilton, it is possible that you may be able to tell her where it came from. I picked it up at the same time as I got yours. Oh! what do you think of the bit of Fritz belt "Gott mit uns" there were heaps of dead Bosch around the spot where I picked it up. Post a guard with a bayonet & rifle over the bit of timber. A it will be a valuable addition to your collection, I cut it out close by the spot where I picked it up, the timber was so perforated with bits of shell that it was difficult to get even a piece
