Could not see Beersheeba [Beersheba] owing to intervening hills. Got home on night of 13th & went out again on 15th on same stunt only our Regt was in reserve to the Bde. The other two Bdes 2nd & NZMR were on our left.
General Allenby was out today having a reconnaisance of the country & was accompanied by General Chauvel, Gen Chaytor (Anzac Divn) & our Brigadier Gen Cox. They came out all the way in motor cars of which there were 13 including a few armoured motor cars. They went back before dinner having had a good look round.
The 2nd Regt went up to where we were shelled a couple of days previously & did not have a shell fired at them.
Went back home by a short cut & got back to camp about 8 pm. We are going down to the beach on 18th for a months spell.
17th
Outpost tonight & day patrol tomorrow morning.
18th
We were not relieved until dinner time by the 8th Mtd Bde (London Rough Riders) & did not get to the beach until 7.30 pm.
