The Dome of this mosque is a beautiful thing, wonderfully worked. Near by is the Mosque of El Aska, which was originally a Christian church raised about the 6th century but which was taken over by the Mohammedans & converted into a mosque. On the walls are written the names of the Caliphs.

The next place we saw was the Wailing Place of the Jews which was not very well patronised this afternoon however, we could see the Garden of Gethsemeneh [Gethsemane] & the Mount of Olives just across the way but time did not admit us seeing them at close range.

A day is realy not enough in which to see Jerusalem thoroughly but as it is all we could obtain it is better than not seeing it at all.

I am very glad now that I have had a chance to see the Holy City both old & new & the places of such world wide interest, where Our Lord spent part of His life & where he died for us.

We left at 5 pm & got back to the drome about 7 pm.
