In the re run I beat the pistol & won by about 10 yds. The other chap entered a protest, which was upheld by the Committee & so we had to re run it again, although I would have been quite right in refusing as the other chap was quite in the wrong. However I won the 2nd re run by about 3 yds in 14 secs. Thus I won £8.10 on the day £6 for 120 yds & £2.10 for the 100 yds.
In the 100 yds I ran in sandshoes & would no doubt have won if I had had the proper spiked shoes that I used in the 120 yards. I had a lot of running to do, twice in the 100 yds & 4 times in 120 yds & so am pretty tired tonight but joyful.
I think I was a surprise packet today but no one was more surprised than myself.
