Managed to get several snaps of the bridge, one before it went up, 1 as it was going up & one after the explosion.
We saw quite a lot of sheep in one flock we counted over 300 & also got plenty of fowls & eggs.
On the way home we burnt a tremendous quantity of hay.
28th
Went back about 6 miles today for a spell of 9 days in reserve & 9 on the beach.
3 of our planes chased & brought down a Hun. Two more today chased another one & only for the machine gun jamming would have brought it down. This is a welcome sign as it seems as if we are getting our own back a bit.
29th
Went down to the beach today for a swim & gave the horses one also.
Some French Colonials at Khan Yunis as we were going through. They come from Morocco. They are very smart & have a good turn out. I don't think there is more than about a Battalion of them here at present. There are also some Italians here too about 1 Battalion. They are "Bersaglient" [Bersagliere, sharp shooters in Italian Army]
