All the almond & orange orchards have just been ploughed giving theĀ ground a very fresh appearance. One cannot help noticing that the fruit trees are remarkably free from diseases. The oranges also never had any scale on them.

The ploughs they use up this way are the small type of orchard plough we use at home, but differ in this respect that they have only a single handle, which makes them very easy to handle. The soil is a sandy loam & is very easy to work.

The rainy season is drawing to a close now & ought to be all over in a month or so. All the rain comes from the S. West & comes up very rapidly. I have seen the sky without a cloud visible & then it be raining inside a quarter of an hour.

Our Air Service has undergone a remarkable change during the last 3 months & we are absolutely superior in the air.
