but luckily none dropped in the wadi we were in.
It very quickly got too hot for the battery & they had to come out of action. it was great to see the way the teams came up at the gallop swing round limbered up & away in about 3 or 4 seconds, under heavy shell fire. All 6 guns were got away thus one at a time without a single casualty.
The Turks during the day had forced back the 2nd Bde on our right & towards evening were around the back of us & firing on us from behind so that under cover of darkness we cleared out.
During the afternoon the 2nd & 3rd Regiments galloped out into action in front of us across the open ground. It was a grand sight to see the way they manouvered & opened out into close formation with the shells bursting among them. I reckon that it is a sight that will take some beating.
