Sick of being kept in bed & am to be allowed up tomorrow, I hope. The nights are very warm now & one does not need any bed clothes at all. They treat us very well in here & the nurses are kindness itself. The thing I appreciate most of all are the baths & that one can keep clean. Also you soon get rid of all septic sores, which I was never without at the regiment.
The 14th AGH is a fine big building of 2 storeys & built on square system with a big quadrangle in the middle. Twas originally built by Napolean for barracks & [h]is crest is still on the top of the main gate. The walls are remarkably thick - about 3' at least & running down the centre of the wards & supporting the roof are big pillars about 3'6" square & one every 7 or 8 yards.
