lot of time for practice & for preparing the necessary paraphanalia. The second half of the programme consisted of a farce "Going home" the scene being the deck of the ship, with the actors in the guise of officers, nurses, men & ships complement. This was the best part of the concert.

The squadron orchestra were in attendance but were not up to their usual form, due no doubt to the dinner. Fortunately the Concert party were sober, or sufficiently so to do their parts properly.

There were a lot of officers present including the Brig Gen, the Major of Squadron & other officers. As is usual on these occasions several of the officers were "told off", peculiarities of characters speech etc being brought out. Also some including the CO & EO were called all kinds of nice names by some of the men & told off properly.

Of course the only course open to them was to take it all & say nothing. We expected the CO to be counted out when he came round to the Mess Huts at dinner time but this did not eventuate.
