Coming in from outpost tonight we saw one of our machines that had been out bombing brought down & burst into flames on landing.
23rd.
Bombed again this morning (4 bombs) but no damage done beyond 2 men wounded & a couple of horses killed. Since we got cut up a few days ago, we adopt a new formation both when on the march & when bivouaced, called "Taube Formation".
The main idea is to keep as much distance as possible between troops thus presenting a Taube very poor target.
Have been issued with gas masks just before the stunt as preventitive against our own gas or the enemys. We fired some thousands of gas shells at Gaza but it was not effective as it was not concentrated enough.
Two of our tanks were put out of action at Gaza on 19th, one on top of tank redoubt where it still remains. It was through following the tank into action that 2 Companys of our Camel Corps were annililated on by above
