They had some hundreds of horses on board & on the declaration of the armistice had to go back to Bombay & land them as they are of no use here now & once they came into Egypt they could not leave it again.
1st Dec
Went up to Cairo on 29th for 48 hrs leave to get my money from the Bank. Had a very good time but regretted that the leave was not 7 days instead of 2.
Caught a very heavy cold yesterday & can hardly speak today.
Had a big mail in some days ago & I got 14 letters by it.
We leave here tomorrow to rejoin the Sqdn at Ramleh. Am sorry to leave here as I was getting used to it. The grub could not be improved on & tis fairly warm & also we have done practically nothing since we came here.
One of the Handley Page machines left Cairo a couple of days ago to fly to Bombay via Damascus & Baghdad. This would be a very nice trip if one could manage to go on it.
As soon as I rejoin the Sqdn I am applying for leave to Jerusalem.
