Lake Tiberias [Sea of Galilee], & our next stop was Samak which is on the shores of the lake, owing to the clouds & mist being so low it was impossible to see things very far away, & certainly not as well as well as in sunlight.
After leaving Samak we started to climb. Tis really marvellous the way the line is built & is a fine piece of Engineering. There are about a dozen bridges to be crossed, over Gorges etc, the surroundings of them being splendid.
At one place looking up the side of the mountain you could see the line again some hundreds of feet above us. In about 5 minutes time we were up there looking down on the valley below. There are 6 tunnels on this climb & in one place one tunnel is right over the top of another one, the line almost doing a figure 8.
The climb was pretty slow on account of it raining continually & the line being so slippery.
