Up at the front now they are not making much progress owing to lack of Heavy artillery which is now being rushed up.
Dec 3rd
Arrived at Junction Station today after only a 6 mile stunt. This is our 5th day on the march. This place is the Junction for all the lines from Jaffa, Jerusalem & Gaza.
There were several fine buildings here which are now being used by us as Hospitals. An enormous quantity of building material was captured here some thousands of pounds worth, also some engines & rolling stock. The engines were all made in Belguim.
We are now about 34 miles beyond Gaza by road & during the whole of the treck of 55 miles we have only walked about 5 miles. The remainder of it we rode in cars or motor lorries. Our plan was to find the days destination then get in a motor car & go on ahead & wait for them or if we did
