She was an exceedingly dirty ship & not to be compared to our steamer.
Next we went to the Troopship A8, the Argyleshire bound for Australia. The next was a big dirty looking transport with a load of 600 mules on board from China to Italy & a Chinese crew. Near her was a small oil-steamer vey appropriately named the Castor.
The port seemed to be really too small for the amount of shipping that goes through there. The Harbour would be practically enclosed by a breakwater but for two breaks in it called the North & South entrances respectively. Tis usual to go in the Northern entrance & out through the Southern one.
