on the edge of the sand dunes which run along the coast all the way for a width of about 2 miles.
Khan Yunis is a small village with very narrow winding streets & mud huts. There is any amount of cactus about, it being used as hedges & fences. Khan Yunis is at the entrance of a valley which looks just lovely at present being covered with almond orchards & cultivated land.
A Taube came over very low on the afternoon of our arrival & to spite our antis, turned his machine gun on us without hitting anyone however.
Went out on outpost on our 2nd night here, for 24 hours. I was on an observation post all day with a Helio on a house top.
Saw a good air scrap today about half a mile away. A Hun tackled 2 of our machines from above & brought one of them down near the 2nd Regt.
From where we were we could just see into Gaza & during the day saw 6 of our planes bomb it, dropping about 40
