Spent a really enjoyable day with them & after tea took them for a long motor ride.
Sunday 24th
Went to church this morning to St Catherines Cathedral. It was Palm Sunday & the church was fearfully crowded. I went away & came back an hour later & found it nearly as bad then. Went to Benediction the same evening. Today was the first service I had been to since last August before I left the regiment.
We went to the Museum this afternoon but did not think a great deal of it. It is not nearly as big nor as interesting as Cairo Museum.
Left Alex on 8.15 am train on 26th & though we only had 3rd class tickets got into 2nd class carriage as soon as the train left the station. At Ben Ha we detrained & 5 minutes later caught another train going from Cairo to Port Said.
Saw the 2 nurses we had met at Alex in a 1st class car & they invited us in. We got in & were not pulled up during the whole of the
