June 17th
Was playing football yesterday against the 6th Regt & during the game I received a kick on the right knee which necessitated me going to hospital next day.
Went from our Field Ambulance to a Divisional Clearing Stn & from there on to a Field Hospital at Rafa where I stayed 2 days. The journey to Rafa was over rough ground & the swaying of the Ambulance made me quite sick.
I was still Capt of the Regiment team & was rather unlucky in getting hurt when I did as our Bde went down to the beach for 10 days the next day after I left the Regt & I was looking forward so much to this trip.
Went down to El Arish in a hospital train today 18th. Stayed the night there in No 2 Aus Stn Hopl & next morning went down to Kantara to No 24 Stationary Hospital.
Had to wait here a few days before I could get on to the 14th A.G.H. at Cairo.
My knee is doing well now & is nothing very serious just a slight touch of synovitis. Don't like this Hospital at Kantara at all & will be glad to get under
