They had not been in Beersheeba [Beersheba] stunt & had marched up from Rafa which accounted for them being so late.
Went back to Karm to give horses a few days spell but did not take the guns down.
On 5th went back up to our guns setting out at about dinner time. After limbering up, the guns went on further, crossed the railway line at Irgig [Irgeig] & got into position eventually about 3 am in the morning only ¼ mile beyond the railway.
Had to put our station up as we were to start early. Had a little breakfast about 4.30, - the first bite we had had since the previous morning.
We opened fire at sunrise & continued until 9.30 am when we advanced the guns about 1¼ miles to a position they had taken earlier in the morning. During the day there was some severe fighting at places & about 400 prisoners & 4 guns were taken with some machine guns.
After tea we went up 2
