rudely shattered. Our station is very portable & can be erected or dismantled in 15 or 20 minutes. It consists of a Short Wave Tuner MK111, 2 poles 20' high & an aerial of copper wire 60 yds long suspended between the two poles. This aerial wire is connected to our instruments.
Also we have 2 copper mesh mats about 12' long & 2' wide which we cover with earth & connect by a lead to our instrument.
We have a Bivoy[?] made made in 1 piece which is much better than anything that the troops are issued with. We generally pitch the bivoy [?] at the foot of the taller mast & have our aerial pointing in the direction the guns are going to shoot, as a rule.
Also as part of our equipment we have 6 canvas strips 13' x 2' which we use for signalling to the aeroplanes from the ground. Our instrument is simply for the receiving & we cannot transmit messages.
