lines as our pilot signalled him too, he kept heading for his own lines, so our machine emptied his machine gun into him at very close range & he dropped like a stone. The pilot was unrecognisable & his machine was smashed to atoms.
The air service here is improving now & we have some fine new fighting machines here - Bristol Fighters.
We have 4 Squadrons on this front now, 113 RFC (just lately come) 111 RFC (Fighting Squadron) 14th Sqdn RFC & 67th AFC.
113th & 14th Sqdns do artillery co-operation work, 111th the fighting & escort work & our Sqdn does bombing, reconnaisances & photography.
Our Squadron has done more flying than any other here by a long way.

Went out today to Shellal to join 181 Heavy Battery RGA in 96th Heavy Group, as wireless operators attached to the battery. There was another chap with me who was in charge.
