your body.
Heard a few days ago that the Mooltan was sunk off Gibraltar on July 25th by a mine, was very sorry to hear this.

Went out on a stunt last night to a place below Beersheeba [Beersheba]. We travelled all night, covering at least 25 miles & just after daylight got onto a hill 3 miles from Beersheeba [Beersheba]. We had a rotten journey as we seemed to be stopping every quarter of an hour or so & we would no sooner lay down than we would have to go on again. I was with "C" Sqdn for this stunt & not with HQ's.
We crossed the Beersheeba [Beersheba] Agua [El Auja] railway & went about a mile or so beyond it onto Hill 1160. We were engaged with the enemy at long range with machine guns & rifles.
C Squadron was out in front today & was doing the scrapping. About 8 am they started to shell us from a hill about 2 miles in front of us & in about 2 minutes everyone was off the Hill with the exception of my mate & myself.
The first 2 shells lobbed about 10 yds away but hit no one.
