We have had a lot of reinforcements now on this front of men & guns & now have 7 infantry Divisions here the 10th 52nd 53rd 54th 60th 74th & 75th & 3 mounted Divisions forming the Desert Mounted Corps. The Inf Divns are grouped into 2 Army Corps the 20th & 21st. There must be something like 25,000 men on this front now with about 800 guns.
Aug 7th
Have been back some days now from the Redoubts & have been on a couple of all night stunts out beyond the wadi, on one of these we ran into a Turkish redoubt before we knew it was there. The enemy opened a heavy fire but no one was hit.
9th
Regiment went over to Shellal Junct today to be deloused. They have a disenfecting train into which we put all our blankets & clothes for half an hour to be steamed & disenfected. While this is on you have to wear an overcoat or anything you like. The clothes are wet when they come out but very quickly dry on
