month. During the month of Ramadan the Egyptans fast from 3 in the morning until 7 pm at night. They take it very seriously & the greater majority of the natives keep the fast which is more than I could do I am sure.
Fasting is one of the 5 main points of their religion & Mahomedans adhere very strictly to the laws of their religion.
23rd
Was innoculated this morning and has 2 full doses, 1 of cholera & 1 of Para Typhoid, receiving 1 in each arm. Was rather unwell during the day & was very feverish over night & my arms were very sore & stiff next day.
25th
Got a new rig out this morning as I am going back to the regiment today.
Saw Bob Stenson today for a while, he is in details at present. He was very confident of getting his Commission as a pilot in the Sqdn. He was looking very well & had much benefited by his sojourn in Hospital & at [El] Montazah.
Went to Kantara by the afternoon train & left same night at 10 pm in a troop train. We were jammed in like flies, 35 men
