7 men escaping. All the travelling is done at night now & only come home off a stunt in day time.
26th
Went out at 0330 this morning as Jacko was suspected to make an attack. It did not come however & we had to ride back to camp. It is very hot & the dust of which there is a great deal makes ones mouth parched so that you drink far more water than you otherwise would & yet it does not quench the thirst. The dust gets in ones eyes also & at times you can hardly see out of them.
We have plenty of water when near the Wadi but very little when away from it as there is no means of getting it up.
Moved out same night for Shellal into a position we are to occupy for sometime. Camped just over the wadi about 100 yds from where the 2nd Bde were bombed on 18th Apr.
The horses have just been buried & the ground smells something awful at times when wind blows our way.
