1st L H Bde is camped about here & consists of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Regts, 1st L.H.F. Amb & 1st Machine Gun Squadron.
4th
On 4th had a Brigade Race meeting up the El Arish Wadi. It was very successful but the best event was the mule race. The mules were all shapes & sizes. The Bde Major won on a tiny mule & the Staff Capt came 2nd on a great big ungainly one.
We entered our mule for this, (Head Quarters Sigs Pack mule) but she followed a mule off the course about half way round. She has a head on her just like a tree. There were several impromptu bookies on the field & all of them did well.
5th
The 4th Bde arrived today & are camped up the Wadi. They have been recently formed at the Canal & treeked up the desert. They consist of the 4th, 12th & 11th Regiments.
After a lot of chasing about saw Bob Stinson.
6th
Left at 8.30 for Shiekh Zoawide [Zowaiid] a distance of 21 miles arriving there about 4 pm.
