A camel generally carries two of these. The camp is situated on the sides of a hollow in the sand at the bottom of which are some date palms & a few wells & rising abruptly behind the trees is a huge sandhill.
The country is all sandy undulating hills covered with a coarse kind of vegetation which grows to a height of about 3 feet. This place was the scene of a scrap after Romani & our Regt did the stunt 20 miles & as they got no H2O when getting there & so had to go back.
Have been playing a lot of football here on the sand & it gets one in good condition. It has been very windy here during last few days & we cannot eat a meal on account of the sand blowing about. One day when we had just started dinner the tent blew down on top of us & spoilt our dinner.
