good home or because they have been telling the older men all the news. They have all been dished out with new uniforms.
Jan 14th Went for a walk today to Makanich which is only a mile ot two from the School. Here we saw the Holy Well & the Virgins Tree where Joseph & Mary rested on their flight into Egypt.
There is a fine R.C. Church near by, on the inside walls of which are painted different events that occured during the flight.
About a quarter of a mile from the Church is the Old Obelisk which is said to be a sister one to Cleopatra's Needle. It is 40' high & has an equal length below ground. It was originally at Heliopolis but was moved to its present position to commemorate some great event in ancient history but exactly what that event was I do not know.
