here this time as motor machine gun batteries, aerial torpedoes etc & our flying machines are to machine gunning of troops & transport on an extensive scale having guns fitted for that purpose.
16th
For past few days our fighting machines have been doing an all day patrol for Huns & guarding the Balloons. Tis our usual procedure to sweep the skies of huns before a stunt starts.
While up the river fishing yesterday I saw a fine big beaver - the first I have ever seen alive either in captivity ot in its natural state. Did not have any firearms with me so could not shoot it though I would like to obtain the skin of one.
There are a fair number in the river but this is the first one I have seen. It came to the surface only a couple of yards from where I was sitting & remained on top for about ½ a minute. There are any amount of tortoises in the river varying in size from 3" to 2' across.
