Have been getting great news during past few weeks from France & this morning heard that we had taken another 17,000 prisoners & 300 guns with great quantities of war material.
Received some mail a few days ago dated June 17th. Last mail I had prior to this was of Apr 18th.
Aug 31st
We have 2 Handley Pge machines out here now. They flew from England to Egypt their actual time in the air being 36 hrs. One of them is to be sent to our Sqdn.
Some mornings ago we had 7 huns over here. Two machines from our sqdn met them & brought down 4.
On 3rd of this month 2 of our machines tackled 4 up near Haifa bagging 2 of them.
Sent a cable on the 24th to Dr - for £10 to go on leave.
