on the approach of Huns. Also in the evening when they bring it up close to the line there are two scouts doing a constant patrol around it.
They have become very keen lately as regards taking any enemy or allied press & promise all kinds of severe punishment to any offenders caught. We have had several officers around lately & so we have decided to lay low for a time & have put our coil away out of sight. We were told to destroy it but cannot see our way clear to do that.
Anyhow tis not worth while risking a court martial just for sake of getting a little enemy press.
July 25th
About a week or so ago the German division attacked over near the Jordan. They were heavily replused & we took 350 of them prisoners also 150 Turks. This will mean a very serious blow to their prestige among the Turks.
Jaffa was shelled some days ago by an enemy submarine
