had had a case of smallpox nearly 3 weeks ago, we were strictly quarantined & no one came near us or even sent us a message of welcome back home.
We rounded the Leevin today but did not find it very rough except for a heavy swell & kept close in to land all day. Owing to the ship being so light we were bouncing all over the place & half the time the propellors were out of the water. Owing to this we had to slaken speed somewhat.
Arrived in Adelaide about 4 pm the 5th. Were medically inspected again but the South Australians did not go ashore until 1 pm next day. We did not go into Outer Harbour but anchored outside.
We took about 600 tons of coal & left at midnight on 6th. Took on some papers which were very welcome also some fruit.
Our next destination id Hobart.
