We have averaged 13 knots per day & since starting with a favourable wind for 4 or 5 days.
In the Red Sea we met about 30 boats & passed one on each of the first 3 days.
The Mungaree [Food etc] is not bad at all. The first couple of days out it was light but as a result of our general complaint it was improved somewhat. 375 cases of Comforts were put on at Port Said, consisting mainly of tinned fruit, syrup, jam, sauce & plenty of reading matter.
There is a fair amount of amusement on board. Our Concert party & orchastra are in full swing. Sports extending over 2 days have been held & a boxing tourament is starting in a few days.
Of course the great old game of "two up" & Crown & Anchor are much in evidence & some fair sums of money have been lost at these. One chap headed the pennies 25 times in succession one night & won £46 at it. Had it been a very big school he would have
