We go on the boat tomorrow morning at 9 am at Kantara landing place & leave at 11 or thereabouts. It is very hard to realise that we are leaving this country to go home as life here seems to have become the natural way of things, though none of us will be sorry to leave.
We have to pull down our own camp which has taken all day nearly. The only things left are a few tents which will be pulled down early in the morning.
The Khamseen has been blowing extra hard today accompanied by rain & at time one could not see more than 50 yds or so owing to sand which gets in ones eyes, ears, nose etc.
Some Tommy A.S.C. drivers from over the road have been getting a lot of backsheesh during the past couple of days in way of primus stoves, clothing, etc as also have Indians from nearby camps.
The battleship "New Zealand" went through the Canal this morning en route to India & Australia.
