On the 23rd there was a big review by General Allenby at Cairo & taking part in the proceedings was a formation of 100 machines. One chap an expert pilot & instructor was killed owing to the collapse of his machine while stunting.
Our Squadron was not invited to participate in this affair as it was to be a show for the "Training Squadrons" ours being the only Squadron in the field now. 7 of our machines flew down to Cairo however as some of the officers wanted to see the celebrations. The flight - a non-stop one took just 3 hours the distance being about 300 miles.

We had the Squadron sports meeting this afternoon in fine weather & they were a great success. There were only 2 running events the 100 yds Sqdn Championship & a 120 yards open Championship. I won my heat in both events & came second in final 100 yards, being beaten by about 6". Time 11 3/5.
In final of 120 yds I came a dead heat with Tommie & so had to re-run it.
