CATTLE FROM THE NAMOI & SOVEREIGN RIVERS.

Cattle from the Namoi River have been long known in the Sydney market and fetch high prices, they feed & fatten on the Myall & Briccalow scrub which is found in abundance on the banks of that river, and on small grassy places skirted by [undecipherable] of this shrub.  The dairys [dairies] on the Namoi are farmed for their production of butter and cheese, a market for which in Sydney and elsewhere in the colony.

Cattle from the Gwyder River fetch higher prices in the Sydney market than from the most farmed runs in New South Wales.
The plains and banks of this river are occupied by the stations of numerous settlers principally graziers - these are surrounded by a high range of mountains which ensure a supply of rain, these mountains are said to be on a level with the table land of New England from which they are distantly seen.
The herbage and grass on the plains & banks of Gwyder River are of the richest description.
The Cattle from the Sovereign River are farmed they graze on the rich flats and plains of that river, during the summer months & during the winter retire to the high lands, & dividing ranges of mountains dividing the Macintyre Brook and
sources of the Condamine from the river - These
mountains form a boundary for the Cattle during the winter they are there well sheltered, warmer & more secure than in most Cattle runs in the Northern Country. Stockmen are Comparatively  easy work on the river, the Cattle are easily attended.
