FROM - MR MORTS PRODUCE CIRCULAR

My last circular opened with the speculations naturally suggested by the startling discoveries of Gold in Australia, and as was then anticipated, the good obtained has not been unmixed with evil, although as far as orr own district is concerned, our share of the latter has been confined chiefly to the inconveniences consequent upon the greater difficulty of obtaining pastoral & domestic Servants, with the higher rate of wages attendant there upon; and it is a matter of great Congratulation, that we are able to declare, after passing through the fiery ordeal of 1852, that so far as the general interests of the Colony are concerned, they have been and are currently prosperous.
If we have had more to pay, we have had more to pay [?], - those possessing fixed incomes being almost the only pecuniary sufferers, from what at one time, viewed as [as] the annihilator, of the chief amount of the then existing wealth of the Colony -
Property of almost every Class has advanced in value, House property especially -
The Squatter has been Compensated for his increased expenditure by an advanced price for his wool, and an increased demand for his store
Sheep & Cattle
Our Commercial interests have been marked by an amount of prosperity, which has surpassed that of every former period of the Colony's History, and the numberless thousands, who are wending their way to add to our ranks, will only serve to swell the sum of that prosperity by increasing our trade and our Commerce; and by
aiding us in the development of the vast, the unlimited resources of the noble country
