New System of Renting Sheep.
EIGHT THOUSAND SHEEP RENTED FROM NEW ENGLAND TO RUN IN GWYDER DISTRICT
Eight Thousand Sheep were rented in 1850 or 1851 from a run in New England to Graze in Gwyder District Terms of payment Say for each Sheep one pound yearly of washed fleece wool in a proper Marketable Condition delivered in Sydney in bales. The increase of the Flocks to belong to the renter — The Same number of Sheep to be returned at the experation of the agreement (a number of years) & according to the age & Condition at the Commencement of the agreement. This part of the Country abounds with Salt brush on which the Sheep thrive, requiring no Salt at certain Seasons as in other parts of the Country
In 1851 Two thousand Sheep were rented in New England this year One of the thousands being Ewes the other being mixed Sheep & not above four year old at Forty pounds per thousand The increase of course belonging to the renter —
In 1851 Good Sound Sheep about three or four year old will bring by renting in New England Forty pounds per thousand increase belonging to the renter Terms payment when the wool comes off the Sheep.
In May 1850 Two Small lots of Sheep were rented in New England together Say twelve hundred & forty five
one of the parties number being 634
& the other parties being 611 1245
The party having the 634 Sheep rented them, with this understanding, that all the clip of wool is for the Keep of the Sheep, having thirty rams in his lot the increase to belong to the owner The other party having 611 Sheep rented with this understanding that the half of the wool & the half of the increase Should be in payment for the Keep of his Sheep
CATTLE TAKEN ON KEEP FROM THE PROPRIETORS ON TERMS 1852
Cattle are taken on Keep from the proprietors this year 1852 on the following terms, viz The [?] Keeping the Cattle, to run them on his own run, for any term of Years as may be agreed upon for half the increase, and not to be accountable for any loss in the original number [?] the herd, or their incease from loss or deaths.
