It appears from these that in the fortnight ending the 25th March - 37.058 ounces of gold were brought down by the escorts from Mount Alexander and Bendigo

Making a total of 75 .867 - ounces
This return of 38.000 ounces per week shows that the gradual decline in the Victoria escort returns, which had priv [?] for some months still continued.
Last year the escort at one time averaged 80,000 ounces per week for several weeks -
During the fortnight 4.137 persons arrived in the colony (by sea) and 1254 had left showing a gain of 2,883 or 1450 weekly -
During the fortnight there was shipped for London

A Total of 117. 000 ounces
This with the shipments to Sydney made up the shipments from 1st January to the 26th March 1853 to
