LIVERPOOL PLAINS DISTRICT
HIGHEST POINTS IN THE LIVEREPOOL AND GREAT NORTHERN RANGE
In the Northern districts the great Cordillera extends North to South, the average distance of these Mountains from the Pacific Ocean is about Seventy miles, this great range divides the eastern & Western Waters
The highest Southern point is to be found in that known as the Urano Dumbi range & from this point may be traced Sources of the eastern, Western, & Southern Waters - Viz the eastern, Manning, & Macleay [?] The Western, the Peel & Malurundi. The Southern, the William, Patterson, & Hunter rivers.
The highest northern points in this great dividing range, are to be found at Benlomond in New England, & Mount Lindesay in Moreton district.
From Benlomond are traced the principal Sources of the Barwan, Viz the Macintyre & [?] rivers, and of the eastern waters, the Clarence, & Macleay Rivers.
From the Lindesay range are traced the Sources of the Bremer, Logan, Condamine, & the Northern branch of Clarence River
In New England the great northern line oF road passes over Benlomond within two hundred feet of its highest point
